DIY Halloween Chalkboard Art
As Halloween approaches next week, I thought my kitchen could use a little holiday spirit makeover. I found this awesome chalkboard frame at Kirklands last night that I just couldn't pass up. So of course I went to Pinterest for some Pinspiration. This was my first attempt at chalkboard art, definitely not as easy as it looks. That's the glory of chalk though, easy to clean up your mistakes. So here it is in all it's spooktacular glory!

DIY Bench out of an old coffee table

So over the weekend I went back to my favorite thrift store looking for a coffee table to replace the old one my dog decided to use as chew toy. I ended up finding one I liked not realizing that when I brought it home it was way to small for my giant oversized couches. I have been seeing a lot of posts on Pinterest lately of people upcycling old coffee tables into benches so I decided to give it a go! A quick trip to the fabric store later and I was ready to get started.
Here's what I used
~Old Coffee table:$10 at the thrift store
~Fabric:$15 (on sale WOOHOO!)
~Foam cushion and batting:$25
~Staple gun:Already own
~Black Paint:Had that from previous projects
So all it cost was $50 and now I have myself an awesome little DIY bench!

Cheap and Easy DIY Magnets
Most of the projects I do are with stuff I have lying around the house and this is one that is so quick and easy to do and you really don't have to spend that much money! Supplies you will need:
- Glue (I used ModPodge but any clear drying glue should work
- Decorative paper/pictures/magazine cutouts etc...
- Flat clear marbles (found at any craft store)
- Craft magnets (small enough to fit the back of the marble)
- Scissors
- Find the paper with the design you want to use.
- Glue your marbles to the paper FLAT SIDE DOWN, design facing up. Make sure they are spread far enough apart so you can cut between them. (some people trace the marble to the paper and cut it out first but I have found that it's easier gluing them then cutting them)
- Allow enough time for the marbles to dry to the paper, now carefully cut around the marbles, close enough so that you cant see the paper edges from the front of the marble.
- Glue on magnet to back and let dry.
- Hang them on the fridge and you are DONE!!
